The Full Moon in April is known as the Pink Full Moon, so named since it falls during the time of year when the pink moss wildflower blooms in North America. It is also known as Breaking Ice Moon (Algonquin), Budding Moon of Plants and Shrubs (Tlingit), Moon of the Red Grass Appearing (Oglala), Egg Moon and Fish Moon. In China, this moon is known as the Peony Moon as this is the season for these flowers to bloom.
